Sergey Kordenkov leads research activities at the Pokrovsky Carbon Polygon of HSE University. His key research areas include the development of technologies to enhance greenhouse gas sequestration in agricultural lands, remote monitoring of soil carbon in agricultural systems using Earth observation data (satellites and unmanned aerial systems), and monitoring greenhouse gas fluxes in agricultural ecosystems and freshwater bodies through chamber-based and pulse flux measurements.
